OpenPlus was commissioned for a comprehensive multi-Drupal project modernization and migration initiative. This project consisted of introducing, deploying and providing knowledge transfer on a modernized Drupal environment consolidation able to run many containerized site deployments with support for dev, staging, production. This scope includes all of the modern CI/CD DevOps required to run pipelines with comprehensive configuration management, migration from other environments, as well as content migration with bulk scripted actions, conversions and cleansing.

Public Site Project Overview

Transport Canada's flagship public website required modernization from the legacy RedDot CMS platform to DrupalWxT with full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. The site receives over 10 million annual visitors seeking transportation services, regulations, and incident reporting.

This 71-month initiative involved complete platform migration, content architecture redesign, integration with modern government services, and implementation of containerized DevOps infrastructure on Azure government cloud with automated CI/CD pipelines. The site taylors to content architecture for various transportation modes including air, marine, rail, and road.

Drupal WebForm is used in several areas throughout the site and intranet, including incident reporting and feedback collection. It also provides custom email alerts and workflows for administrative teams.

Internal Site with Single Sign-on Office 365 Integration - 6,000 Daily Users

MyTC serves as Transport Canada's internal communications hub, supporting 6,000 daily active users including content creators and administrators. The platform modernized legacy RedDot content including 4,000+ bilingual pages with role-based access control for regional offices.

Implementation includes organizational structure alignment with Air, Rail, Marine, and Dangerous Goods divisions, maintaining WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards while providing administrators with powerful content management and workflow capabilities.

Intranet Scope & Key Features

Leveraging our TC Cloud AKS consulting, the Drupal CMS equity from the main site, and Office 365 Integration, the MyTC Intranet provides a secure and efficient internal communications platform for Transport Canada employees in a SSO single-sign-on environment.
